Single Digit Seven Segment Display is widely used to display decimal numbers from 0 to 9. It consists of seven segments of light emitting diodes (LEDs), assembled like a figure 8. They are most commonly used in electronic devices such as digital clocks, timers, and calculators to display digital information.

In a common anode display, all the anodes of the LED segments are connected together to form a logical "1". Individual segments can be illuminated by applying a ground, logical "0" or "low" signal to the cathode of a particular segment (ag) through a suitable current limiting resistor.
